Adrian Gee-Turner
Adrian is currently the Chair of the Ashford Liberal Democrats and he is running in the Ashford Borough Council elections for Willesborough North on May 2nd, 2019.
Adrian came to live in Ashford seven years ago and lives with his wife and son in the town centre.
Adrian was previously a Councillor for the London Borough of Hackney where he was the Chair of the Lib Dem Council Group as well as lead spokesperson on Business and Development. He was also the first Chair of Scrutiny and Overview in the UK local government.
Adrian was on the working group for three years for the Renewal of Local Democracy which became the Local Government Act. He is very familiar with the administrative powers and structures of cabinet lead local government and the balance of power structure that is meant to be built into the Local Government Act. As Chair of Scrutiny on Hackney Council Adrian directed and oversaw the closure of multiple sub contracted contracts which where outsourced by the Council and took on maladministration and poor practice in the oversite of council contracts.
Adrian has stood for Parliament in Dagenham, North Croydon and Ashford for the Lib Dems as well as for District and Council in Ashford.
Adrian has been a member of the Green Lib Dems and used to be an environmental auditor and consultant before moving into the medical devices industry. He is also a member of the Lib Dems for Business Group in Kent and nationally.
Adrian is a member of the PSA National Executive Committee part of UNITE the Union as well as having been the London Branch Secretary of PSA. Adrian is a previous member of the ADLTU Association of Liberal Democrats Trade Union Executive.
Adrian is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketers and a Freeman of the City of London.
