Towers School Sets up a Banquet

In a fantastic example of what local schools can achieve in vocational training the Hospitality Department of the Tower School in Ashford has been selected to provide a banquet for a visiting VIP. Liberal Democrat MP for Frome, David Heath, will be the main guest at a dinner which is to be held on Friday 28th March 2008 at the School. This is the eve of the Liberal Democrat South East Region Conference which will be held in the town on Saturday.

The School was recently visited by Jamie Oliver and is proving to be an inspiration in the provision of a wide range of vocational training.

All the produce used in the meal will be locally produced including the wine to celebrate Kent 's ability to produce fresh organic high quality food. The students will prepare and serve all the food.

Ashford Liberal Democrats Parliamentary spokesman Chris Took said, 'We're thrilled that the regional conference is being held in Ashford this year. We're really excited about the fact that the Towers School is able to lay on this impressive banquet'.

The Conference is expected to discuss many issues relevant to Ashford like the plans for extra housing and other environmental issues.
