Until retiring I spent 25 years as a hard bitten expeditor in the oil and gas industry. An expeditor is someone employed to make things happen and get things done. It was a tough, no nonsense job but one which I loved. I would bring that kind of experience to bear if you elected me onto the Council on November 24th
Some of the many issues you've reported include a variety of issues with the green at Cryol Road, the litter in Beaver Lane, dog fouling in Victoria Park, graffiti in Brookfield Square and the lack of cardboard and plastic recycling via the Blue Box scheme.
As a local resident I feel I have a good insight into life in the ward and can spot many of these issues each day. I also work with CROP (Citizen's Rights for Older People) as a volunteer and organiser, helping older residents with forms, paperwork and more.
One reason that Cllr Brendan Naughton was able to respond well to resident issues was because he lived in the ward in Hillbrow Lane. I feel very strongly that your local councillor needs to be able to respond to pavement politics and, therefore, should be a local resident (and not live in Tenterden, as the Labour candidate does).
As this local election is going to take place on November 24th the turnout could be very low, with perhaps less than 20% of residents voting. Your vote could therefore be absolutely crucial.
If elected I, like thousands of Liberal Democrat councillors across the country, will be delivering a regular 'Focus' leaflet each quarter.
