Chris with Muffin Break Café Manager, Chris Clements, at County Square
Chris Took, Ashford Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Candidate for the forthcoming general election, has taken twenty minutes out of his campaign schedule to enjoy a coffee and cast his 'Unofficial Election Bean Poll' vote at Ashford's Muffin Break Cafe in County Square.
Chris Took casts his 'bean' vote
The 'Unofficial Election Bean Poll' is a national poll taking place at Muffin Break Cafes across the UK. Each Muffin Break Café is displaying a four cylinder unit with labels for the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and 'other' parties. Every Muffin Break customer is offered a coffee bean with their purchase and encouraged to place it in their preferred party cylinder.
Muffin Break Cafes are tallying bean numbers on a week by week basis to reflect peoples voting trends through the campaign.
"I've not visited the Muffin Break in County Square during the election campaign but our leaflets and Nick Clegg's performances have pushed us close to the top of the poll" said Chris.
"Obviously we want to win in Ashford and across the country but, if it's not to be, then at least I had the consolation of a free coffee!"
