"Closing Beaver Road Post Office will impact on the quality of local residents lives" - Cllr David Bradberry
Liberal Democrat Councillors Robert Cowley and David Bradberry have praised the efforts of local people in attending a meeting protesting against the Labour government's planned Post Office cuts.
Over one hundred people turned up in support of Beaver Road Post Office, one of those recently threatened with the axe by the government.
Concerns were voiced by locals that closing Beaver Road Post Office would ruin this close knit community and put added pressure on the already overstretched Main Post Office in the town centre.
Councillor David Bradberry said after the meeting "With Ashford expanding we need to keep these small offices for it's community base. Many elderly and less able members of our public cannot easily get into the Town Centre - closing Beaver Road Post Office will certainly impact on their quality of life."
