Chris Took
Chris Took has been reselected as parliamentary candidate for Ashford Liberal Democrats following a vote by the local party on Saturday September 23rd.
Chris fought the general election for the Liberal Democrats in 2005 and increased their vote by more than 1000.
Speaking after the vote Chris said "2005 was just the start. Our recent conference in Brighton established a strong set of policies allowing us to target both the Labour and Tory vote.
With the boundary changes Ashford has enormous potential as a seat and I am grateful to the local party for starting the selection process so early."
Chris has recently purchased a property in Kennington and plans to stand as a local election candidate in May 2007.
"We are now fully focused on making significant gains at the local elections in May 2007.
There are many local issues that need confronting including increasing recycling targets, dealing with Ashford's growth and pushing for greater openness with council decisions."
